Dragonfly At Rest

As a kid I used to chase dragonflies of all sizes. Seeing a blue one the other day brought back happy childhood memories. I was such a tomboy back then and would play with the boys instead of the girls, whom I couldn’t stand. They wouldn’t want to touch bugs and insects. This graceful creature is one to behold.
I am many things - a life coach, a diversity champion, a freelance writer and translator, a dog lover, a citizen of the world, etc - but never thought of myself as a photographer. Norwich inspires me to capture snapshots of this fine Norman city. Take a trip down Norwich lanes or enjoy a walk in the park with me.

I like your photo.
The last one I saw here where I live had a white body with transparent wings except two brown bands of color on each wing. He was very good looking.

I’ve never seen a white-bodied dragonfly. I would love to! Got any photo?

Xtin, there were a number of them while I was at Fairhaven, but would not stay put. I thought I could get a shot of all four of them lined up, but they were too quick for me.

I saw three beautiful dragonflies at a friends pond in Powell River, British Columbia two nights ago July 13′08 Their bodies were dark with an irridescent white stripe on top all the way from thorax to tail tip.
