By the River

The River Wensum flows through the city of Norwich and later joins the River Yare and out into Great Yarmouth. Flats and houses have been built by the river, including retirement homes.
Some days you can see people fishing by the river, other days they hop on a boat to cruise along it. But for those who are fortunate to own a property by the river, they simply enjoy the view everyday – either on their verandah in the summer or through their windows when the weather is a bit miserable.
I am many things - a life coach, a diversity champion, a freelance writer and translator, a dog lover, a citizen of the world, etc - but never thought of myself as a photographer. Norwich inspires me to capture snapshots of this fine Norman city. Take a trip down Norwich lanes or enjoy a walk in the park with me.

That’s a gorgeous photograph–I love lakes and rivers (and oceans but we don’t live near one)–and I love photos like this, nice lighting, nice reflection and interesting bits of information given to us…

Hello Joy.
Lovely pic. Looks like it was taken at Friar’s Quay facing towards Fye Bridge Street at sunrise. Am I correct?

Excellent photo. The reflection of the lights and night sky are great.
Thanks for visiting my NorthBayPhoto blog. Sorry I didn’t have you on the list of Theme Day bloggers (I pulled the list from the forum site). If I go back to old posts and add now, it seems to mess up what photo/day the main daily photo site grabs for displaying pictures (happened a couple of times in the past), so try not to change any older posts now.

Gudl, it is romantic indeed. A riverside walk with someone you care about is a nice thing to do on a moonlit evening. And it’s quite safe to do it here in Norwich.

iBlowfish – the properties tend to be quite pricey. But of course, if you’ve got wads of cash, why not?

Hi medam, Norwich tends to be really quiet. People actually think it’s a gentle city.
