Norwich Mosque

norwich mosque

Not many people know that this mosque exists right in the city centre, unless of course you were Muslim or friends with one. It may not be as grand or architecturally traditional as other mosques but it does serve the purpose of providing Muslims in the city a space where they can say their prayers and communicate with Allah.

This building has not the aspect of Mosque at all, but rather than a English Church, so it continues the purpose which was built and remains a cult and prayer place however.

Great shot. Just looking at the building, I would not have known it was a Mosque.

I’ve been in there a few times, Joy.
    It’s lovely.
For my sins, I designed the disgusting office block on the corner that used to be - and maybe still is “Dencora House” (it was twenty years ago, before I developed any good taste).

How interesting. I wouldn’t have known it was a mosque. It’s good to be able to have a place of worship.

Everyone said what I was going to say, a lovely picture of a building that looks more like a church than a mosque! Very nice capture. I’m glad they have a place to worship.

The building probably was originally a Christian church, I’ve seen a number of churches throughout the UK which, presumably due to the congregation dwindling, have been deconsecrated and bought out by mosques - there’s one not far from where I live in Glasgow.

Hi Joy, I am sorry I am late with my comment. I didn’t know that there is a mosque in Norwich, but I am glad that there is a place for Muslims to pray to God. The building really looks like more as a church but either way they are God’s houses. Thank you for this photo!
