Of course, there is euphoria to be had going to an after Christmas sale! So rush to your nearest Marks & Spencer or whichever is your favourite shop. Save some for my return though!

EEEEEEK !
I went in there the Saturday before Christmas, Joy.
It was only nine o’clock when I got there (we had coffee at half-eight to beat the rush) and the queue snaked right round the store. There must have been two hundred people standing there.
So we walked across the street to Debenhams and there was ONE person in front of us at the till.
I’ll stick with Debenhams.

It IS a beautiful building, Daniel, but the stone is only a façade. The building is one of the oldest reinforced concrete buildings in the world. When I was in architecture college we were shown round the structure of it. If only the modern concrete buildings looked so good!

Dive, I don’t know what it is about M&S, or maybe I do, that I really like. It’s the excellent customer service (which I don’t mind paying for), their their sense of social responsibility and value for money (for most of the stuff they sell). And their food! Just love love love their food.
Such a bummer that in Manila, the peso-pound exchange rate is not favourable to us! I’ve always really loved this shop, but yeah, I hate it when it’s crowded.

Daniel and Quin - yes, I think it’s also a beautiful building. Unlike Dive, I don’t know much about its history and structure, but I can appreciate what I see of it - and the people who work inside it. Once or twice I’ve had not so good service from there but that’s over a span of 4 years.

Jim, I wish I can say the same, but I don’t know how I’ll feel once I’m back in Norwich. I like good bargains

Hi Joy! Until I’m able to go to the UK, then I’ve got to be contented with M&S stores here in Manila. You’re right, it’s a great store. It’s one of my favorites here, but I like Topshop more hehe. Love to buy in bulk during sales.
