To Let

to let

I have been ill all week, so obviously I wanted to just rest. On Thursday at midday, the usually noisy student neighbours decided to practise playing their trumpet - and they suck! I had to check if murder was still a crime in this country. It went on for ages.

The agents have put up this sign, which probably means the current horrors will soon leave and will be replaced by, I won’t be surprised, other inconsiderate students like themselves.

Sometimes, when they come back from a drinking binge at 2am, some girl would be crying and screaming, “I’m so stupid, I’m so stupid.”  Other times, one of them would say, “I just want to kill myself!” That’s a thought.  When did uni life become so overly dramatic?

Can’t wait to move to our new house!

I suppose you could knock on their door and tell them you have the flu and that you would appreciate a little quiet.

Hi Joy, here I am trying to recapture your last posts on my weekly visit… ;)
First, with such a big pot, no wonder the church is asking to give GENEROUSLY… But the church is beautiful! Also loved the colours of the scarves and the amazing students story… ;))
Thanks for your comments at Blogtrotter, where I’m still strolling around the streets of Sofia.
    Have a great weekend!

Joy, I had to giggle at your post…we have all definitely felt that way at some time, too. I’m so sorry you’re still sick. This year has been very bad for the flu….sending you healing hugs!!

Nottingham has a high population of students, as it has 2 universities. Most seem well behaved, but there is a minority of troublemakers. Thankfully there are no students near us, so life is quiet.

Ohhh! Poor Joy! We have the same problem with students living in my building. Unfortunately, they are inconsiderate, I guess because they don’t live here permanently. They don’t care about anything or anyone. We’ve had to go and knock on their door a few times. And once we had to call the police. I don’t feel bad when my dogs bark at them. ;-)

    Feel better real soon.

    Hi Joy
This happens always in the houses that reside students, have trouble and voices who improbable hours of common quietness!
Do not find the neighbours quietness! Patience!

Living around the college headquarters could be troublesome. Well, that’s how university life is. Party every weekend. As far as I know,
even the days when my parents went to university. The students have been very obnoxious. It’s just getting worst. At least, you’re not living in the PARTY HOUSE ROW.

When I was a student, we had a fancy dress party in our shared house, and were surprised the next day to find that our neighbours had called the landlord to complain. They never said anything to us at the time (and we were mostly religious studies students, so it wasn’t an especially riotous party!)
It occured to me later that I was the only person in the house who had lived in a terraced house before - all the others grew up in detatched houses of one sort or another - so they never needed to think of the neighbours and keep the noise down.
(The neighbours never needed to complain about us again).
