Double Decker

double decker

Going up Mousehold Heath, one does not expect to see a sightseeing bus there. People must be careful driving up it as it winds a lot. This bus driver almost didn’t see us coming. He was looking the other way as he prepared to turn left, without having checked his left!

The driver was probably counting on you seeing him. How could you miss all those colors. Like a rainbow on wheels.

Oh, it’s unusual to see a sightseeing bus in the open country! The double deckers are so funny!

I remember we have this kind of bus in Manila way back in early 1980s. But it was the kind with the whole upper deck.
It was banned though as many accidents and traffic happened. People at the upper deck has some difficulty debarking and it takes a lot of time, making way for heavy traffic.

This is a wonderful photo, Joy. Thanks for sharing. That driver must be careful turning his wheels around.

I didn’t ss this bus when I was in Norwich last week. It wasn’t really the weather for sightseeing either. But I did take a few photos, which of course have appeared on my page.

So very similar to the tour buses here in SF. I would love to sit upstairs and take in the view. Have you tried riding this and become a tourist in your own backyard?

i think the philippines should have buses like that too. but let me think… the problem is if it pass by along the streets of manila, it will just expose the dirty roofs! hehehe… nevermind. the philippine jeepneys will be perfect for the tourists here.

I never got a chance to ride a double decker bus here in Manila. We used to have them on the streets but they were banned.
