Porto: Twilight

Porto is just so full of character, that whatever time of day one takes a photo of it, it turns out really well. Also, Porto can never come out wrong – in colour or black & white.

Douro River at night turns into a magical illumination. The breathtaking view is only equalled by the stars overhead.

This is the bridge that crosses the Douro River. It is so beautiful at night. This picture doesn’t really do it justice. But I hope you still like my take on it.

Part of the tour was a visit to the cellar. Here you are looking at oak wine barrels.

This was also where we learned a lot about how port – white and ruby – is made. I highly recommend this tour!
PS
For those who are wondering whether I sampled their port, I didn’t. My significant other did and he said they were really good – the ruby and the white. However, I still have not acquired a taste for anything alcoholic!

When in Porto…
It was of course inevitable to visit some of the cellars in Porto. The one we chose was Ramos Pinto. This is one of their often provocative, bold and audacious publicity material. How many bottles of wine do you think this poster sold?
