I suppose food related businesses do better in the summer, Christmas and Valentine’s Day. It’s great to see cafes come back to life in the summer – with people enjoying a cold drink as they people watch.

Where’s your favourite summer hang out?

This is one of the many entrances to Castle Mall, now called The Mall Norwich. There are many interesting shops inside it, but one point of interest for me is the GP surgery that is open to walk in patients. Now that’s pretty rare in Norwich.

Timber Hill is one of the many quaint interesting streets in Norwich. Just look at these pretty little shops. Fancy a stroll down here?

Also beautiful any day of the year is the Royal Arcade. I suppose every city in the UK has one. It’s hard to believe that this building used to be a stable. Rich people and merchants who visited Norwich would have their horses resting here for the night. Now this building is full of neat little shops and offers a good resting place for the weary shoppers.

Behold the Chiropractic Door. Well, the door isn’t a chiropractor, obviously. But believe it or not, this place is actually a Chiropractic Centre.

But first let’s take a closer look at that door. Isn’t that grand? That’s where the patients walk through to look after their wellbeing.

Now here’s a shot of that building on Heigham St. This place is actually the Dolphin Inn, which was formerly the palace of Bishop Joseph Hall (b. 1574, d. 1656). He was the Bishop of Norwich from 1644 until 1647, when he was forced to retire after his cathedral had been pillaged and desecrated.
