On my way home one evening this spring, I noticed that the Castle was brightly lit and looked absolutely amazing! Come visit Norwich and I’ll take you around the Castle, including the dungeon.
Do you like castles? Which ones have you been to?

I thought I’d start a series of Norwich doors. England being an old old place will have some very interesting doors and gates and passages. So I’ll have a hunt for a few of them and share them with you, shall I?
First stop is this entrance to Dragon’s Hall. What do you think of it?
From their website:
Dragon Hall is a Grade 1 listed trading hall built in about 1430. It is a unique legacy of medieval life and is one of the most important historic buildings in Norwich and Norfolk.
The magnificent first floor Great Hall has an outstanding crown post roof with a beautifully carved dragon which gives the building its name.
Dragon Hall has recently undergone a £1.8 million programme of restoration and development largely funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. We re-opened in April 2006 and welcome visitors, guided tours and school groups. Displays on three floors tell the fascinating tale of Robert Toppes, the wealthy merchant who built Dragon Hall, and the building’s place in the story of Norwich.

There are many Norwich lanes, and Lower Goat Lane is one of them. Here you’ll find a juice bar, Salvation Army, a mental health charity, kinky clothes shops and plenty more. And yes, there is an Upper Goat Lane.

According to their website:
Norwich Lanes offers one of the UK’s best selections of unique and independent shops, mingling between an extensive collection of charming restaurants, cafes and bars.
The shops based in Norwich’s beautiful historic quarter offer everything for the contemporary lifestyle; including a great mix of cutting edge fashion boutiques, health and beauty salons, and the opportunity to buy something that little bit different.
As well as the retailers based in this area of Norwich, the pubs, bars, cafes, juice bars and restaurants in Norwich Lanes can help to satisfy any appetite of size or variety. Norwich Lanes also offers a wealth of heritage and architecture which form a beautiful backdrop to the area.

The tiles above have names of famous people who lived in Norwich. And this path leads to what is known as Norwich Lanes.

Pottergate St in Norwich is a quaint little street with pretty houses and buildings. I like to go up and down this street, especially in the summer, to admire the buildings. However, I took this photo one crisp winter morning, and so I had to hurry before I my bum froze!
