Come down to Norwich next time the French bakers are here from France OR fly to France and taste the difference! These goodies were so yummy – the madelenes, the macaroons in different flavours, the mini muffins and so much more.

Coffee anyone? Come on. Do tell. Can you start a caffeine-free day?

Yesterday, the 5th of November was quite memorable for me. The results of the US elections were quite resounding, and people from around the world celebrated with everyone because of Barack Obama’s victory. I was one of them.
Rosa sat so Martin could walk.
Martin walked so Obama could run.
Obama ran so our children can fly.
Another reason to celebrate yesterday was my naturalisation as a British citizen. Finally, I can travel freely without needing a tourist visa! Not only that. At the Norwich International Airport up to a little over a year ago, non-EU passport holders were made to stand aside and wait for everyone else to go through immigration, even though most of the time on a flight, there would only be one non-EU passenger.
I have found this offensive and humiliating. Fortunately, the Chief Immigration Officer at the airport was a progressive thinker. I raised this issue and he told me that I as long as the non-EU passenger has filled in their landing card, they may queue up together with the EU passengers. Not all of his team agreed with this, but the hope was that they will soon realise that the ‘segregation’ was going against every social inclusion campaign in the country.
Having diversity as my remit, I emailed across to my network of contacts and organisations this piece of news and the Black and Minority Ethnic communities were delighted!
Also, when travelling, the Immigration Officer would no longer scrutinize my passport for 5 minutes or more, before letting me through. For UK passport holders, all it takes is half a second!
Now I have my dual citizenship to look forward to at the end of this month. I’m proud to be Filipino and would never wish to give it up.

I suppose being a city with a huge university, it’s only fair to expect that students will find ways to have fun and let the public know about it. Many areas around Norwich serve as a notice board for events organised by the ever party-ready youth.

Part of the fair were complementary therapists who offered Indian head massage, reiki, reflexology and shiatsu. I managed to score a coupon for a free head and shoulder shiatsu and I am definitely looking forward to that!
Which is your favourite complementary therapy? Tried one lately? If not, do yourself a favour and treat yourself and your loved ones to the most relaxing half hour.
