Caramel Macchiato

I know, there is nothing extraordinary about a Caramel Macchiato. However, what was extraordinary was that I got this for free!!! In Norwich!

I walked into Starbucks and wanted a blended coffee drink – decaf, soy milk, no whip. And the reply was – “We don’t do that.”

However, the lady at the till had a brainstorm and decided to make me my own special blend. A shot of decaf coffee, some soy milk, a whizz in the blender and voila. I tried it but it needed some more flavour so she added this and that and it was a most enjoyable drink.

I offered to pay several times, but she said that it’s on the house. She said that if I really like it, I’d come back and order it again and pay for it next time. How kind!

Spaghetti E Gamberoni

My favourite Italian dish in the whole wide world is a tomato-based pasta with shrimp/prawns and chillis. I had this last night and it was gorgeous!

Now here it is while being showered with lovely fresh parmesan. Yum-my!

No, this is not what I had for my birthday. It was however what I had at my goddaughter’s birthday dinner at Wagamama. I’m not a fan, but let’s not go there. No pun intended.

A Year Wiser

Well, that’s what I hope, at least. And no, I did not just turn 5. I’m a lot older than that.

To me, birthdays are special for so many reasons! And my day of birth is made even more special because today is also the International Women’s Day AND the National Women’s Day in the Philippines! Woo-hoo! So all you women out there, put your feet up and take a break. It is your special day, so come celebrate with me.

My wishes, I hear you ask. Quite simple: that I get to share all the years I have left on this lovely planet with the people who mean the most to me.
