On a bright summer day, it’s lovely to sit outside the pub and enjoy a cool drink. There are flowers everywhere you look, which makes the outdoors really pretty and attractive. I wonder why restaurants don’t make their outside sitting as pretty.

Someone once asked me if the Adam & Eve had low ceilings. I said I didn’t know at the time because I didn’t go to pubs because of the smoke. When the ban was implemented, I went to find out. And so the answer is yes. Look at the lovely paneling.
I also ordered lemonade to quench my thirst (and help with the dizziness), and this time I knew exactly what I was getting. When I first visited Norwich in 2003, I would order lemonade and get Sprite or Seven-Up. I thought they were just random mistakes or some kind of miscommunication. Later I found out that lemonade over here didn’t mean the fruit! If you want that, you’d have to say ‘cloudy’ lemonade.

One of the things that fascinates me about pubs is how lovely they look on the outside. Flower boxes adorn the Wild Man, and yet there’s nothing dainty about pubs inside. At least now the no smoking law is in place.

A true Irish pub. Delaney’s is located next to Expresso. So if you feel in need of a tall one - pop in next door!

On Magdalen St you will find numerous restaurants, bars and pubs. The Courtyard Bar and Grill is one of them. What caught my eye of course was the building itself. It’s so reminiscent of centuries gone by.
